It is not easy to diagnose issues manually, since there are just so many places to check - and if you are not an IT professional, it is even harder. If it is keyboard/mouse, it's unlikely to be both keyboard and mouse, so be sure to try both before concluding that it is a freeze. I do realize my bios is out of date but I'm loathe to try updating that unless I absolutely have to.
