I have looked at STARTUP and I do not see the System32 folder listed as a program that will run a startup. Since the script modifies certain registry settings you may receive an alert from your anti-virus or any script blocking program. The value could have been corrupted for a number of reasons to include malware or installing/uninstalling a program which did not install/uninstall itself properly.The problem could also be caused by empty I was able to pinpoint what was going on with my startup issue. http://placedroid.com/system32-folder/system32-folder-on-startup-hjt-log.html

Is the syntax in that picture wrong? I restarted and to no avail. Several functions may not work. Look in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ and ensure there is noting there that opens the folder.
