Sims 1 is really best installed to a location other than the default one for Win7/Vista, since it has to write the save files to that location too (and UAC can I don't know for sure. I bought it and installed the noCD exe file to skip the disk check. It's better now though, it had a virus a while ago.

No need to be fancy, just an overview. Right-click on the icon for your game, which brings up a menu.
